Comment: The Gwin Mine is located in the Paloma District, about 4 miles southwest of Mokelumne Hill and one mile northeast of the old mining town of Paloma in northwestern Calaveras County, California. The mine was named after U.S. Senator William Gwin, who purchased the property in 1867.
